Groundbreaking Ceremony Held for Comoros Sports Complex and Swimming Center Aid Project Constructed by Hebei Construction Group
On the afternoon of May 20, 2025, local time, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Comoros Sports Complex and Swimming Center aid Project, undertaken by Hebei Construction Group, was solemnly held in Mitsoudjé, Comoros.
The ceremony was attended by Comorian President Azali Assoumani, Speaker of the Parliament Moustadroine Abdou, governors of the islands, Secretary General of the Government, ministers of various departments, Chinese Ambassador to Comoros Guo Zhijun, Counselor Meng Yuhong, the project construction and technical team, representatives from the project management company, and representatives of Chinese enterprises and institutions in Comoros.
President Azali and Ambassador Guo Zhijun each delivered speeches at the ceremony.
The completion of the Comoros Sports Complex and Swimming Center aid Project will provide strong support for Comoros in hosting the 2027 Indian Ocean Island Games. It will significantly contribute to the development of the country’s sports sector, further enhance cooperation between China and Comoros in the field of sports, and deepen the friendship between the two nations.
